January 6-10
As we are nearing the end of the semester we are completing things we haven't yet and reviewing for the tests. Most of our students are on level and have been successful in completing the tasks for this semester.
On Wednesday we will complete the evaluation process for the English program with their final written test- we will however continue with Reading, Phonics and the Picture Dictionary until the end of the semester on January 17. Please send these books to school with your child. (A few children have left their books at home even though we are reviewing the material.)
As for homework- we are reviewing but will not be taking home any written material. Listening to the CD that came with the Picture Dictionary, reading the stories and playing the phonics games on the blog should keep them busy.
Please remember that no two children are alike and that they will not progress at the same pace. Some of our children have developed amazing social skills in addition to academic skills. I feel that the social skills needed to empathize with one another and work together as a group, far outweighs the skills of taking a written exam.
Shine on,
Carmen Pedro
