This week we are looking at our test papers and reviewing Phonics. We are reviewing beginning and ending sounds as well as short vowel sounds. We played a few games and sang a few songs to reinforce the sounds. So, if you hear them singing 'Listen to the short a sound-a, a,a,a,a!' Just smile and sing along :)
We are reading a story called 'The Hungry Caterpillar'. This story is not in the Reading Street book but something that goes with spring, change and new beginnings. It is also a good story about food: what is healthy and what is unhealthy. It is also a great starting point for many other topics. It is short and sweet and just the thing for the last week of school.
They have a copy of the story to take home and read. There are a few words they might not know. They can listen to the story below and follow on the page.
