Dear Parents and Students,
Firstly, I want to
say that the students have exceeded my expectations and then some. They’ve done
well even though the tests were extremely difficult this time round. I hope to see
them all in Grade 3, in the new semester as I have some amazing plans for them.
As the summer vacation begins, it is easy to
fall into a more relaxed pattern by going to bed later and getting up later.
Try to keep, more or less, the same schedule for the summer to avoid the
frustration of getting up early when the new semester starts. J
The students have a
copy of the Summer Homework and it’s just a review of what they’ve been doing
in class this semester. They have been instructed as to what to do.
A copy will be made available online, should
you misplace yours, so that there is no excuse not to complete it. You can
download and print it yourself. Please
do not wait until the night before school starts, to complete everything, as
this is quite stressful. I am waiting on Teacher Henry to complete the answer
sheet and will make this available the week before school starts, so that you
can check the answers.
The Tumblebookwebsite is useful for those who find it difficult to find English books to read.
The stories are available for only one day and are not repeated. Make sure that
your child reads at least one story a day. With the temperatures being what
they are, it is sometimes hard to get to the library, so the library is coming
to you! J
The Glogs
for all the stories we’ve done, are also available for those who want to play
English games or if you want to brush up on what we’ve done this past year. Just scroll down for the links.
Finally, I want to thank everyone for making the last day
so special. Thank you for all the cards and gifts I received last week. I fell extremely
blessed and grateful for the support and trust that you’ve placed in me.
Have an amazing summer and stay safe!
Teacher Carmen
