Happy Halloween!

Dear Witches, Wizards, Ghouls and Troll,

Thank you to everyone who helped make our Halloween activity a success. (In other words, thank you for the candy!J)

The problem with the Excel file has been fixed but I am waiting on a few of the students to bring their Listening tests back, so that I can confirm that we have the correct score. They know who they areJ

Exams are coming up soon and the students should start reviewing already. The scope of the exams will cover everything they’ve done from week 7 through week 11 J

Exam Scope

1. My Sidewalks on Reading Street Level C: pages 60-123

2. Worksheets: weeks 7-11

3. Vocabulary: weeks 7-11 in Communication books

This coming week, we will take an in depth look at endangered and extinct animals. The focus skill will be on using the information at hand and drawing your own conclusions about what you have read.

This is a skill that goes hand in hand with the main idea and supporting details in a text or story.

Some strategies we’ll employ to reach a conclusion include, reviewing, asking questions, and summarizing.

With our outing scheduled this week, the students will need to complete some of the writing as homework.

Please sign the page or pages after your child has completed the work. As before, anything not completed in class during the allotted time becomes homework automatically.
