Welcome to week 8! We’ll be going on an outing this week and will miss, Grade 4 and 6 classes on Wednesday. Please check the individual pages for the homework.

Some Grade 6 students have been asked to come in at 7:30am to complete the required written review for units 1 and 2. 

Students in grades 4 and 6 will spend one class looking at ‘Dia de los Muertos’ or the ‘Day of the Dead’. This is a Mexican festival celebrating and remembering, family and friends who have died. I have chosen this topic instead of the traditional Halloween theme, as they already know everything about it:) It’s a festival similar to the Tomb Sweeping Festival in Taiwan. They will be coloring sugar skulls like the one in the picture below.

Second grade students however will spend one class on Halloween . They will also color a haunted house and write a few sentences about Halloween.
