Week 10

Dear Parents and Students,
This week marks the official middle of the semester for us. Wow! Time has flown by so quickly, it seems as if we’ve hardly had time to breathe.
On Friday, I gave ALL the students a copy of a cursive writing book they can use at their own leisure. This is not to be tested and is a fun introduction to learning cursive writing, stress free. They can follow the arrows to trace the letters and words. They can then attempt to write on their own.
In May we will have our first SPELLING BEE! All the students are encouraged to participate and I’ve given each one a set of words to learn. The first stage will take place in the classroom. The second stage will include competing against the other Grade 2 classes as the words come from the YLE Starters word list.

Mole and the Baby Bird glog is almost complete and should be functional at the end of the day. Until Google makes friends with Glogster, we might have problems embedding the glog into the blog J, so click on the name of the story to take you to the glog.

Have a fabulous week,
Carmen
